Pure sine wave vs modified sine wave
Grid electricity is a smooth "sine wave". A pure sine wave inverter reproduces it; a modified (square) wave inverter approximates it with crude steps. The difference matters more than the price tag.
What runs great on modified sine wave (Budget 12V Backup)
- LED lights, ceiling and pedestal fans, LED TVs, WiFi routers, phone/laptop chargers, and small shop tools.
- For reliable, economical 12V battery backup, our Alkaram 2000W, Alkaram 3000W, Alkaram 4000W and Alkaram 6000W power inverters deliver strong output at a fraction of the cost of hybrid systems.
What needs pure sine wave (Motors, Compressors & Direct Solar)
- Heavy inductive appliances with a motor or compressor: refrigerators, deep freezers, water pumps, and air conditioners.
- Direct solar daytime setups without batteries: our Energy 1.5KW Direct Solar PV Inverter (1–3 panels) and Simko 3.2KW Black Panther Direct Solar PV Inverter (2–4 panels) generate clean pure sine wave 220V–230V AC directly from your solar panels.
Which one should you choose?
At G Power & Electronics (Shop No. 1, Sarwar Centre, Hall Road, Lahore), we stock both types so you never overpay for capacity you don't need: choose an Alkaram 12V Power Inverter paired with a Simtek MPPT Charge Controller for affordable 12V battery backup of fans, lights and TVs, or choose the Energy 1.5KW / Simko 3.2KW Pure Sine Wave PV Inverter to run heavy daytime loads directly from solar panels without a battery.
Quick rule
If your backup load is lights, fans, TV and router on a 12V battery, an Alkaram inverter is the most cost-effective choice. If you are running a fridge, water pump or direct battery-free daytime solar, choose a pure sine wave PV inverter.
